noun: delicatessen; plural noun: delicatessens
A shop selling cooked meats, cheeses, and unusual prepared foods.
We’ve always had an interest in the history of food, and developed a passion for smoking and curing our own meat and fish.
A trip to Tuscany really helped us perfect our craft in the art of salami making. Learning from the Italians is learning from the best.
With our on-site smoking house and curing rooms, we produce delicious produce such as salami, salt beef, pastrami, hams and dry cured bacon.
Daily, we make our hugely popular scotch eggs (we have one customer who comes in every Wednesday and buys 10 for his staff). Our sausage rolls are also another favourite, made with Kentish free-range pork and fresh all-butter puff pastry, and like our homemade ‘proper’ pies they’re an utter delight. We were chuffed to bits when all our efforts won us Kent Food Producer of the Year 2015.
We also stock flavoured oils, olives, Italian truffles, extra virgin olive oils, Spanish saffron honey and our homemade chutneys and piccalillis (my mum loves our piccalilli).
